Our Story

Hoodoo was founded by Tribes and Rampton in an attempt to bring the passion and culture for organic, analogue, rhythmic techno to Guangzhou.
A counterpunch to the glitz and glamour of the Chinese club culture, an underground party for the alternative, a home for the people of a purely music focused mentality. No dress codes, no gimmicks, just the techno heads who love living in China but want something more when it comes to clublife.
Amongst others, the energy of the British techno scene, the soul of Detroit and Chicago, the freedom of the German approach, the experimental of the Japanese and the acid of everywhere have been the influences that have made the techno culture we love and we represent it as best we can for a basement club in South China.
